A downloadable Java game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Just an experiment I did to see if I could do it. It was initially designed to be modular and modable, though I was (and still am) working to figure out how to have it auto-detect mods. You can download it here or on github: https://github.com/WALLE1Doctor1Who/Snake4J/releases

Use "-debug" to run the game in debug mode if you want to access the debug menu if you want to mess around with stuff... or cheat.

Two player mode coming "soon".

This was inspired by Alpha Phoenix's video on a program that plays snake perfectly. Here's his video if you want to watch it:

Install instructions

Make sure to have Java 11 or later installed on your computer. You can get it at https://adoptium.net/ or via a Ninite (make sure to select the Java 11+ JRE or JDK). Afterwards, just run the JAR file in the dist folder and have fun. Alternatively, if you are using Windows, you can run the exe version (it's just a launcher for the JAR file, you will still need to have Java 11 installed). I'd recommend running the 2.0.0-beta version (at least until the full release of version 2.0.0), as the original 1.0.0 has an annoying bug in the controls that was fixed in the 2.0.0-beta version and version 2.0.0-beta can save your settings and pauses the window when not focused.
